The 1903 Gordon Bennett race
The Napier of SF Edge ( 4cyl. 13,7litres, 80 BHP) at speed ( Reference 6). He was forced to retire due to overheating tyres
The race, which consisted of six laps and a total distance of 524 km, was run over a course in the shape of an "8". The winner took 6 hours, 39 minutes, giving an average speed of 78,8kph.
Another smaller Napier (Jarott). His steering later failed at 100kph but he survived without injury (Reference 6)
